Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

So what’s the takeaway?

Start each day with a plan and knowing what you want to accomplish.  Stay on task to get things done and remain productive.  Stop throughout the day to assess your progress and if you need to shift gears.  Always try to focus on the items that need to be prioritized.  When the day comes to an end, be done with it.  Don’t hold it against yourself if there are a few things left on the list.  The idea is to address important things timely.  Aside from that, start fresh tomorrow with a new list.

How do you make the most of your day and get things done? Do you feel guilty when you don’t accomplish what you set out to?  Do you try to extend your day to make up for it or do you just commit to starting fresh the following day?
